Beekeeping Basics: An introduction to Beekeeping

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” We explain the basics of Beekeeping, how to get started, where to get equipment, care & feeding, pest maintenance, harvesting, what to do with honey & other hive by-products, and much, much more. If you never had bees before or are just getting started, we will try and answer your questions.
Before the class come join us Wednesday at 9:00PM in Kids Hall for the Movie “Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?” an alternative look at the global bee crisis, a 2010 documentary film directed by Taggart Siegel.
And follow up Friday night at 9:00PM in Kids Hall for the Movie “More Than Honey” a film by Markus Imhoof , a movie about the disappearance of the Honey Bee.
