Libertarianism in Russia: Conquerring The Bear
Political system in Russia is very monopolized, but so as Libertarian Party cannot win the seats in State Duma we try to take advantage of any available opportunities winning local elections first. As an elected member of the municipal council, I deal with neighborhood issues, helping to improve the daily lives of people. Along with other members of the Libertarian Party of Russia I have been an active participant of a number of civil protest actions in Moscow getting arrested several times. Political situation in Russia is much more strict than in the US, especially recently, but even in dictatorship there are opportunities for liberty advocates to fight for more freedom. I am going to explain what an anarchist alone can do to change the system from within. Moreover, I would like to destroy the myth of Russians being totally supporters of Vladimir Putin and his military aggression. I will show that there is a strong liberty movement in Russia that is constantly growing.

Freeing the Population: Presentation and Discussion on Peacefully Transitioning to a Stateless Society, Consitutionally, Using the Current Legislative System
To believe the initiation of force is universally immoral is to believe the state immoral to at least some degree. Therefore in order to live in a moral society, the initiation of force must be abolished, which would abolish the state. This will be a presentation which overviews anarcho-capitalism and lays out a plan to move peacefully from our current government to an anarcho-capitalist society using the legislative process to Constitutionally shrink and eventually abolish the state.

The fun part will be the Q and A/ discussion after the 20-25 minute presentation. I'll invite the audience to voice questions and concerns about the transition to anarcho-capitalism, as well as the system itself.

The goal of this presentation and discussion is to introduce audience members to the ideas of anarcho-capitalism, and to a plan that achieves that end without societal upheaval. The other goal is to answer questions and address concerns with the system in a discussion setting where the audience participates as much as the presenter.

DIY Conflict Resolution: No DROs? No Problem.

Let's face it, we're all here together at PorcFest because somewhere deep down in each one of us there is an ultimately optimistic compulsion to embrace the full weight of the challenges that lie in the great contest of pursuing "liberty in our lifetime." It's hardly a smooth process. To many folks, the idea of a society imbued with Complete Liberty is downright morbid, if not impossible. We have to actively demonstrate that living by the first principles is not an ugly, untenable proposition, rather it actually works by putting the advantages of choice and nonviolence on full display. We can make the obviously preferable, mutually beneficial results of true freedom easily self-apparent, but not until vast improvements to how we communicate are made. This presentation will explore how we can make communicating the ideas of individual liberty effortless and contagiously appealing by modeling win-win strategies for our social interactions, transactions, and conflicts using the methodology of Nonviolent Communication. Following the presentation will be an interactive workshop providing audience members with a chance to experience applying NVC to the familiar challenges inherent to practicing the NAP and Self-Interest consistently in a still-Statist society.

Solving the Pricing Puzzle for Small Scale Entrepreneurs
The dream of being your own boss and running your own enterprise quickly runs up against the reality of trying to make it pay. Too many people go into business without the solid foundation of business basics to help them solve fundamental problems such as how to price their work. This session will cover how to reconcile pricing to make a profit with pricing for a market. In addition to reviewing pricing fundamentals, we'll talk in everyday language about common pricing strategies and why they work or don't work for various situations. While this talk will use examples drawn mostly from craft and small manufacturing, the discussion will expand to broaden the scope as wide as the interests of the audience. Learn how to better figure your costs, how to do key market research, and most importantly, how to make sure your prices allow you to make the profit you need.

How the NDAA turns America into a battlefield, and what you can do about it
The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act is one of the most dangerous laws ever passed. It violates 14 provisions of the U.S. Constitution, and allows the military to indefinitely detain any person without charge or trial.

But it does much more than that. Consensual Public Agreements
The purpose of this session is to introduce and brainstorm the concept of a new framework for consensual public agreements. Coercive government uses mature methods and institutions for developing and implementing public agreements that do not involve unanimous consent. Those methods and institutions are dated and they systematically violate dissenters. Increasing political instability and dissent, coupled with technological advances, may create a market for alternatives to existing governmental paradigms that would be well served by a new framework. Come exchange ideas. Is a new framework a good idea? What would such a framework would look like? What next steps make sense?

Opening Up our Electoral Process
Our two-party electoral system creates false dichotomies for voters, forcing people into a box.  Gerrymandered districts with increased polarization create party monopolies, such that determinative elections are too often decided in publicly funded party primaries that independents and third parties have been shut out of, rendering the General Election meaningless.  Independents, libertarians, and other like-minded people can work together for  vibrant, open elections that allow for more competition, choice, and engagement.  Let’s work to help set a new, more liberty-minded electoral vision for the entire country.

Educating Children in a Statist Society: A Typology of Schooling Alternatives
Educating a child to be able to leverage her unique abilities to take a powerful place in an unknowable future is a top responsibility of any parent. Artificially constraining schooling alternatives may be one of the most cruel things government does: it reduces the ability of a wide diversity of children to take their powerful place, and it makes families think that the inevitable mismatches between their diverse children and the one-size-fits-few school must be a problem with the child.

But there is a revolution brewing, and we are at its forefront. It will quietly undermine and overwhelm the evil of the government school monopoly with a wide diversity of schooling alternatives that will eventually match the diversity of our children.

This class will overview a typology of the alternatives that parents will have, and will discuss the pros and cons of each choice for the parent's goal for their child. Public schools, afterschooling, charter schools, private schools, parochial schools, self-directed schools, homeschooling, internet schools, hybrid schools, micro schools, co-ops, learning centers, resource centers, hack spaces are all options for your child.

If you are considering having a child, you will want to know how you can get past the government roadblocks to provide the best education for your unique child's unique future.

Publishing in the 21st Century
The way that authors reach their audiences has changed drastically in recent decades. In the past, finding a publisher was the key attaining success, but now, things are much different. Not only are there more options for independent publishing, but the publishing industry itself has also become overrun with scam artists and copyright trolls, just as the recording industry has. However, thanks to the internet, authors now have the ability to cut out the middleman entirely, and publish their own material for nearly no upfront cost. Likewise, the internet offers distribution and promotion options that allow new authors to take these matters into their own hands. Author and activist John G. Vibes has experienced this struggle, and discovered the solutions firsthand, after 2 years of fighting to release his first paperback book. In this presentation he will explain the variety of self-publishing options that are available to new authors, and share some advice about which options are easiest and most affordable. You will learn how to publish, format and distribute your own book for under 100$, and discover how you can get you book listed on websites like Amazon and sold on shelves in stores like Barnes & Nobles.

Small Scale Aquaculture: From Backyard to Livelihood
I have been raising trout in Northeastern Vermont for more than 20 years. I started out with a few fish in a small pond. Near the beginning, I was told that I would not be able to make a living raising trout given the resources I had... For the last few years I have made approximately half of my livelihood from the sale of trout that I raise. In between, I have had many adventures, disasters and other learning opportunities. I could easily double the sales of the trout I raise if I so choose. Come hear my talk to find out why I might not choose to and maybe learn the easy way what I learned the hard way. Presentation followed by opportunity for questions.

The Devil Inside the Beltway: How The Powerful yet Ignorant try to rule Cybersecurity
This is the story of a man who dares to take on the Feds and the price he pays in his epic battle.
Michael J Daugherty was humming along, living the American Dream, helping humanity with his cancer detection center, LabMD.

One day his momentum was shattered when a cybersecurity company, Tiversa, called.
While monitoring computers worldwide, they saw LabMD's medical file and downloaded it. Taking immediate steps, LabMD searched cyberspace and couldn't find the file. They asked Tiversa what was going on. Tiversa refused to give LabMD information unless LabMD hired Tiversa. When LabMD refused, Tiversa, working with the government all along, gave the file to the Federal Trade Commission.

What happens next will challenge your belief that the government is looking out for you. Daugherty will discuss his book,mThe Devil Inside the Beltway, and trial vs the FTC as he takes you on a harrowing adventure through the underbelly of the federal government.

Art as a Tool For Activism
One frustration often shared by libertarians is that we are surrounded by so much statist propaganda. Luckily, we are capable of creating our own “propaganda”, and even though we may not have the resources of the state, we are usually far more creative, and the truth is always more convincing than a lie. Aside from a new remarkable expectations, the realm of art has been largely untapped by modern libertarians, and it is possible that great progress can be made by taking advantage of this outlet. Today, we consider the potential that art has in spreading the message of liberty. And take a look at the role that art plays in the battle of ideas. This talk will be hosted by John G. Liberty is More Dangerous Than You Think
The vast majority of people in government are brainlessly doing their jobs without considering the concepts of liberty. For that reason most government employees, even in the alphabet agencies, don't see libertarianism as a real threat to their parasitic lifestyle. But there are a few parasites that understand our philosophy and they understand the threat we pose. We should also understand the threat we pose and we should consider what will happen when more parasites catch on to us and understand our message.

Humans vs Zombies

Humans vs. Zombies is a game of tag. All players begin as humans, and three may volunteer to be the zombies. It is not required, but it is recommended that at least one adult is to be a zombie so there can be a contrast between the age groups. If three people do not volunteer, three people will be selected to be the zombies.

 The Objective

  • All humans except for one to be turned into zombies. Once the last man standing is determined, the game ends.

Equipment

  • A bandana to symbolize which team you are on.
  • Foam dart blasters, socks, marshmallow launchers, foam swords, and anything that can be deemed safe to hit people with.

Safety Rules

We all want to have fun while playing HvZ, so it is always good that nobody gets hurt while playing. Here are some of the rules to help keep injuries to a minimum.

  • Be sure to bring shoes you can run in. You don’t want to trip and fall in the campground when there are zombies chasing you.
  • Weapons must not hurt on impact.
  • If someone has been shot or tagged, do not continue to shoot or tag them.

Safe Zones

There are some places where humans and/or zombies can rest. These are counted as “safe zones”, as they are areas where the game is not in effect. Tagging someone in these areas are not counted as turns/stuns. Players within these zones cannot ‘camp’ in a manner of speaking. Players can stay in these zones for 15-30 minutes at maximum. Zombies/humans are not to crowd these areas in wait of someone coming out. Be mindful of your peers.

  • Bathrooms
  • Food vendors
  • Tent sites
  • Other events

Human Rules

The survivor team comprised of those who are to brave the apocalypse. Human players can be determined by the headband around their arm or leg.

  • Stunning a Zombie: Humans can stun a zombie by shooting them with their foam dart blaster, throwing a sock at them, or hitting them with a melee weapon.
  • When tagged: When tagged by a zombie, the human is to remove their headband from their arm, and place it on their head. A tag is a firm grasp, rather than a graze. A zombie can’t just pat someone on the shoulder to turn them.

Zombie Rules

The undead horde comprised of the unlucky souls who were infected from the start. Zombies can be determined by the headband around their head.

  • Feeding: When a human turns into a zombie, they have an unnatural hunger for brains. To turn a human into a fellow zombie, the zombie must grasp a human. Grazing does not count as turning, as stated in the human rules.
  • Being Stunned: When a human player shoots you with a dart, hits you with a foam sword or a sock you are counted as being “stunned”. Once stunned, you are to kneel on the ground and count to 30 out loud. Fast counting is not aloud.

Miscellaneous Rules

  • Do not blast/tag non-players.
  • Non-players are not to interfere with gameplay. This includes but is not limited to spying for either team, or trying to stun a zombie/tag a human if they are not participating.
  • Players are not to guard safe zones or camp at safe zones. Any action taken within the safe zone is not counted as taking place in-game.
  • Zombies are not to use equipment of any sort. This includes shields and weapons. Neither humans nor zombies are allowed to use shields of any sort. A zombie ducking for cover behind a tree, camp sight, or any type of environment does not count as using a shield.
  • Be mindful of Rogers Campground and Porcfests rules as well.

We hope you have fun…and happy hunting.
